These are the top stories in Honduras:
1. Enabled road in El Paraíso
Emergency committee, Copeco,
enabled two alternative roads to Pan American highway, that allows to travel to Nicaragua, from El Paraíso, east of Honduras. A bridge collapsed because heavy rains, that cut off the path between Danlí and El Paraíso. Authorities will install a temporary bridge of 24 meters in the area.
2. Honduras homicide rate
According the Observatory of violence, at the end of 2013, Honduras homicide rate will close at 83
per 100 thousand inhabitants. This number is far from official figure of Security Ministry.
3. Medical employees protest demanding payment
For a second day, medical employees of public hospitals leave their jobs and protests in front of Casa Presidencial, where president Porfirio Lobo leaded the Council of Ministers. Doctors demand for the government overdue payment since January of this year.
4. Tegucigalpa seeks to attract business tourism
Next year, Tegucigalpa will wants to become a business tourism destiny, and because of that, there are several building projects in the city. In 2014, international franchise such as Holiday Inn Express, Hyatt Place y La Quinta Inn will open new hotels in the Honduras main city.
4. Police agents to discharging hearing
A 53 police agents will be summoned to discharge hearing because they failed one of the confidential test. Confidential test is a mechanism to avoid that agents link to organize crime work in the institution.
