President dismissed eight consuls in the USA

Honduran president, Juan Orlando Hernández, started yesterday the restructuring of the foreign service, removing eight consuls in the United States. The dismissed consuls are: Francisco Quezada, of New York; Lizette Hawitt, Miami, Gerardo Agüero, Los Angeles; Emelisa Callejas, of Atlanta; Elka Herrera, New Orleans, José Erasmo Montalvan, of Chicago; Vicenzo Mitt, Dallas; and Leonel Zúniga, Houston.

Drivers strike in Tegucigalpa

Public transportation stopped offering the service from early Tuesday, leaving thousands of users in the stations of the east of Tegucigalpa. The strike started before 7:00 AM, reported citizens to ElHeraldo.hn.

Government will open an Observatory of Violence

The Security Minister Arturo Corrales, reiterated his proposal to create an Observatory of Violence parallel that works at the National University of Honduras (UNAH). According to Corrales, the homicide rate in Honduras will be
reduced to 30 per hundred thousand inhabitants. The actual rate is 80 per hundred thousand inhabitants.

Video shows assault in a wheelchair

National Police detained this Tuesday to the members of a band who was dedicated to banking assaults using a wheelchair. The suspects are members of the criminal gang of 'Carlos Tajada'. They were identified with sketches and videos, among others. You can see the video at www,elheraldo.hn.

Policeman died in gunfire in Comayagua

A policeman dead and four injured, left
a gunfire against a dangerous criminal gang registered this morning in San Luis, Comayagua, Honduras. Three cops were transferred by helicopter to a hospital in the capital and another two by Cruz Roja ambulance.
