1. Dozens of businesses tied to "Los Cachiros"

After seizure assets made yesterday by the Public Ministry and Honduran Police, the U. S. Department of Treasury said to EL HERALDO that "dozens" of persons and businesses are tied to the Honduran drug trafficking organization, Los Cachiros. The American officer confirmed that a big number of businesses are investigated for illicit operations involves with the criminal group.

2. Houses fall down in Tegucigalpa because of rains

The storm registered on Thursday afternoon in Tegucigalpa left two families homeless in Izaguirre neighborhood, east of Tegucigalpa. Other eight houses are in danger of landslide in the next hours, according to local emergency committee Codem. Authorities report today 25 deaths because of rains in Honduras.

3. Honduras Suyapa Virgin enthroned in Vaticano City

Pope Francis met this Friday with Honduras President Porfirio Lobo Sosa and his retinue of 12 persons in Vatican City. Lobo presents to Holy Father a copy of the Honduran Suyapa Virgin statue that was enthroned in the Vatican gardens. Virgin of Suyapa was declared Patroness of Honduras in 1925 by Pope Pius XI.

4. Most patients with renal disorder come from south of Honduras

At least 70 per cent of patients with renal disorder that attend the Escuela Universitario Hospital of Tegucigalpa come from south of Honduras, declared Elio Mena, chief of Nephrology in that medical center. According to Mena, several environmental factors would cause intense disease in kidneys of people in communities of Choluteca and Valle.

5. Public hearing for university president candidates

Candidates for UNAH´s (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras) president, Julieta Castellanos and Gaspar Obando, participate this Friday in a public hearing with the Junta de Dirección Universitaria in Tegucigalpa´s campus. New rector of the principal university in Honduras will be chosen in the next days.
